Haas Confirms Esteban Ocon for Post-Season Test in Abu Dhabi
Haas has announced that Esteban Ocon will drive for the team in the post-season test following the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. This comes after Alpine confirmed that Ocon would not participate in the Abu Dhabi GP.
Initially set to leave Alpine after the 2024 season, Ocon will now be replaced at the Abu Dhabi GP by Jack Doohan. In a statement, Alpine explained, “This change allows Esteban [Ocon] to drive the Haas car in the post-season test in Abu Dhabi.”
While Ocon will not race in the Abu Dhabi GP, he is scheduled to take part in the post-season testing next Tuesday, driving the Haas VF-24.
Rookie Opportunity for Ryo Hirakawa
The second Haas car, reserved for rookie testing, will be driven by Toyota WEC driver Ryo Hirakawa. Meanwhile, Oliver Bearman, set to join Haas in 2025, is ineligible for the rookie car as he has already competed in three F1 Grands Prix this season.
