Hadjar Eyes Red Bull Seat: “It Makes Me Want It Even More”

VCARB rookie Isack Hadjar has reaffirmed his ambition to graduate to the Red Bull senior team in the future, even as speculation continues around the long-term line-up at the top-tier squad.
Speaking during Thursday’s open media session ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix weekend, Hadjar didn’t shy away from expressing his desire to step up.
A journalist asked, “Is it still your dream to race for the Red Bull team? It seems like it’s really tough to be Max’s teammate.” Hadjar responded firmly:
“It makes me want to go even more, you know—like, to find out why, you know, what’s going on.”
While he’s only a few races into his Formula 1 career with VCARB, Hadjar’s confidence appears to be growing after a solid points-scoring performance in recent rounds.
“You see, after these results, confidence is completely back. But it’s not like I don’t need to work anymore. I always put the pressure on myself to keep delivering.”
With Yuki Tsunoda currently showing a mixed form at senior team Red Bull, Hadjar remains respectful but clearly sees himself as part of the competitive conversation.
Asked about working alongside teammates like Tsunoda and Liam Lawson, Hadjar noted the learning curve and the difference in experience:
“Yuki, when he gets out on track, you feel he’s sort of a benchmark straight away because he has that experience. I feel like Liam and I are both like rookies—every time we go out, we’re still exploring a bit more.”
Despite his rookie status, Hadjar feels well-prepared, crediting his extended time in the Red Bull simulator program and reserve duties.
“I’ve been in the sim for two years now… I’ve been around the team as a reserve as well. So apart from adapting to the car itself, all the processes are not new to me.”
Hadjar remains grounded but focused. Asked whether he watches fan reactions to his rising profile online, he laughed:
“I have TikTok, but there’s no F1 whatsoever. I hate having Formula 1 on my feed.”
Whether that grounded approach and steady performance are enough to put him on Red Bull’s radar long-term remains to be seen—but Hadjar is making sure his intent is clear.
