Tsunoda on the RB20: “It Suits My Driving Style”
During post-season testing in Abu Dhabi, Yuki Tsunoda expressed that the Red Bull RB20 felt well-suited to his driving style.
Tsunoda’s comments come amid mounting uncertainty over Sergio Pérez’s seat at Red Bull, with Liam Lawson widely regarded as the frontrunner to replace Pérez.
Reflecting on his experience testing the Red Bull, Tsunoda shared how much he enjoyed driving a car different from his usual Visa Cash App RB (VCARB).
“The post-season test in Abu Dhabi was really enjoyable. For the first time in four years, I got to drive a completely different car,” Tsunoda said. “I could physically understand why the RB20 was able to compete for the championship this year. It felt like a very different machine.”
“Today was an incredibly positive day, and I’m really happy about it. There’s still a lot to learn, but the team prepared meticulously for today’s runs, and the atmosphere in the garage was fantastic.”
“The car seemed to suit my driving style, and I didn’t struggle much to adapt. Even on long stints, I was able to maintain consistent pace and push the car to its limits. You can’t test the limits unless you trust the car,” Tsunoda continued.
“I’m probably the happiest I’ve ever been right now. The most important objective for the day was ensuring the team gathered all the necessary information during each stint.”
